Captain Barbell is a TV series aired in GMA channel 7 in 2006. the story came from a komiks material written by Mars Ravelo who in his period is the most popular komiks novelist. Some of his great comics stories was Darna, Roberta, Dyesebel and many other.

Captain Barbell was made into movie many times and on 2006, in tradition of the top-rated Darna, GMA make a new series for captain barbell starring Richard as Teng and Captain Barbell

Recently, there is another popular Mars Ravelo's komiks novel that will make into TV series and that is Dyesebel
